Three floors of hands-on play on the Fort Point Channel, with sound-reducing earmuffs to borrow, named quieter spots, a social story, and Morningstar Access mornings capped at 100 guests for kids with disabilities.
“Sound-reducing earmuffs sized to most children are available to borrow at the Admissions Desk.”
“If you and your child need a quieter spot to take a break from stimulation, please ask a staff member to help you find a good place.”
“During Morningstar Access, we have a limit of 100 guests”
Staff also have sensory resources like fidget toys and weighted blankets, and adaptive tools like adaptive scissors and crayons. Return the earmuffs to any staff member when you leave.
Morningstar Access is for children with disabilities or medical needs and their families. The registration form asks about your kid's needs or accommodation requests, so you can tell the museum ahead.
Weekday afternoons during the school year are usually quietest. Weekends, holidays, school vacation weeks and summer are usually busiest.

Food and drink only in the first floor lunchroom; consider leaving nuts and nut butters at home.
Lockers and an unattended coat room are on the first floor. Stroller parking is limited and some exhibits can't fit strollers.
Family restrooms on all three floors. An adult-size changing table is in the first aid room; ask staff to unlock it. The main elevator serves all three floors.
