Colorado's story on several floors, free for kids every day, free headphones at Admissions, and a quiet place the museum names: Lincoln Hills. Its own story warns that one theater is dark and loud. This page follows that story, floor by floor.
10 am to 5 pm every day. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Closes at 3 pm on New Year's Eve, and may close early on Christmas Eve too; call to check.
At Low Sensory Mornings “the museum will be closed to the general public, attendance limited, and sounds in the exhibits turned down. Admission is free and space is limited. Please register in advance”
“Quiet spaces are available in the member's lounge on the fourth floor,” and “the nursing room in the northeast corner of the third floor.”
“If I need a quiet place, I can go to Lincoln Hills.”
The next Low Sensory Morning is Sat Nov 14, 8 to 10 am. It's free, but you'll need to register. The museum doesn't say how often they come around, so call 303-866-2394 if you want to know about the next one.
On regular days the museum doesn't say when it's quieter. Sat Nov 7 is a free night (Night at the Museums) starting at 5 pm, and free nights are full ones.
Quiet places: Lincoln Hills, the member's lounge and the nursing room. When you check in, ask which one is open that day.
