Know before you go. The aquatic center doesn't list sensory supports. Here's what it does say about the water, the breaks and the rules.

Hours

Hours change by month and program; call 719-539-6738 or check the center's monthly calendar before you go.

410 W. Rainbow Blvd, Salida 81201

What to expect

  • Temperature

The lap pool is kept at “82-84 degrees,” while “the smaller Leisure Pool offers a cozy 97-100 degrees.”

  • Space

“an ADA-compliant lift for easy entry into both pools, step entries with handrails for your comfort, and a zero-entry area into the leisure pool.”

  • Waits

“5-10 minute Safety Breaks take place each afternoon and evening, where all guests must exit the pools.”

  • Rules

Kids who can't pass the swim test (25 meters without stopping) “must stay within arms reach of an adult in the water at all times,” with “one adult per three non-swimmers in the water.”

  • Crowds

“Private soaking pools are also available for a more intimate experience.”

  • Being indoors helps on a cold day: no walking outside wet between pools.
  • Kids 9 and under who pass the swim test still need an adult in the building.
